Northwest Neighbors Network (NNN) is a local “village” created to connect its members with one another for social activities and a support system so that those of us who desire to live in our homes as we age can do so. As more people are living well into their 60s, 70s, 80s, and beyond, the great majority of us

will want to remain in our own homes, but are likely to need the occasional “helping hand.” It is our intention to have NNN help us find that “helping hand.” NNN is a way to help us enjoy doing things we like with others who share our interests and get some help when we need it.

There is small group of dedicated volunteers who have worked hard to establish the foundational pieces of NNN. This is what has been done so far:

• Created a Board of Directors and a small planning committee.
• Established NNN‘s geographical boundaries which include: Shoreline, Woodway,Lake Forest Park. Also included are parts of south Edmonds, Lynnwood and

  Mountlake Terrace (approximately south of 196th St. SW)

• Established NNN as both a Washington State non-profit and a Federal 501C3 taxexempt organization.
• Developed a website: NorthwestNeighborsNetwork.org
• Designed and printed out flyers and business cards ( see new logo above)
• Given numerous group presentations and established a list of those who haveexpressed interest in membership
• We have been accepted by the SWEL timebank as an organizational member. Thatmeans that when SWEL members volunteer help for NNN they can “bank” their

  hours and use those hours to have other SWEL members do things for them.

• We have a bank account with a positive balance.We have come along with a very few people. It’s hard to imagine that none of us knew anything about what was needed when we began, but here we are with all the building blocks in place. Now we need you to help us create what you want NNN to become. We hope you will join us. If you have a just little time on your hands and are willing to help we would love it!

  We have a few more things to get done before we can begin accepting members. Won’t you lend a hand? We need people who can take an issue and run with it, then share what they have learned/created with our planning group. So, be bold, try something new and join us in building this great idea into something that will be both fun and helpful.
