If you enjoy playing games and making friends, join NNN Host Sharon L. at Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park. We play for fun. Sharon will have games, and she encourages you to bring one of your own if you‘d like to introduce others to a game you love! We start at 1:00. It’s ok to come a little late, but if no one comes by 1:45, Sharon will leave.

Take a mid morning break to enjoy coffee and conversation with a few other NNN neighbors! Look for our table sign, grab your coffee and sit with us!

Quiddler is a fun word card game can be learned in 5 minutes or less. It is a friendly game, but be warned: the host is very good, and it is hard to better her score. We play in our host member‘s home and have room for more players. If you have not played before, we are willing to teach you!

conversation and support. 

Come chat with cooking tips, recipes, hobbies, a recent book, a story, or simply your day. Have
you discovered a solution on how to open those pesky flip top cans or use squeeze bottles
when your fingers are tired and aching? Please share! We promise to listen, keep it positive, and
allow space for everyone to share or just listen.

Meet NNN Volunteer Gene W. at the Boardwalk entrance and enjoy strolling the Edmonds Marsh Interpretive Walkway. The path begins with about 300 feet of boardwalk and continues onto a paved asphalt walkway. Gene will begin walking by 10:15 if you want to meet and walk with him. Bring binoculars, if you have them, there are usually some interesting birds to see. Event will be canceled if temperature is below freezing or snowing.

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church will offer a pop-up food distribution truck at the church from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 10. The food will be available for those in need as part of the church’s response to food insecurity in the community. Available food will include fresh produce, meat and prepackaged items provided by the Edmonds Food Bank. it is free to all, and visitors can choose what they need from the available options.?? The truck will be parked in the north parking lot of the church, which is located at 21405 82nd Pl. W., Edmonds, east and south of the Five Corners roundabout. Watch out for signs on 212th Street and 84th Street with directions to the church.

The universe of digital technologies to support caregiving and aging in place continues to expand. Awareness of the potential risks of these supports is as important as awareness of their presumed benefits. People may respond in different ways to the fact that technologies used in their homes may collect data about them to support their care. In this presentation, Clara Berridge will provide reasons and ways for families to talk about and make decisions regarding the use of these tools. Dr. Berridge will present research with experts and older adults that describes the predominant risks as well as the diverging perspectives among family members about what‘s appropriate. Attendees will understand the importance of making decisions about technology use together, in order to respect both privacy and autonomy. This series if free, but registration is required. Once registered, you‘ll receive an email confirmation. Closer to the date of the presentation, you‘ll receive another email with the Zoom log on information.

Join member/volunteer Ginger H. as she leads a small group card making workshop. Participants will receive pre-assembled kits to make up to two cards they may keep.
No experience is necessary and all supplies are provided. You bring your enthusiasm and laughter to bond with fellow NNN members. If you have small scissors and double sided tape, please bring them. This activity takes place in our host member‘s home in Shoreline. Location details will be provided to confirmed registered participants prior to the event.

There is a small (12-lb.) house dog who will greet you then ignore you. Masks are optional, but this will be an indoor activity.

A book club for those of us who enjoy sharing thoughts and ideas with one another, using that month‘s book as a catalyst for discussion. Meetings are usually held on the fourth Monday of each month. Join other volunteers for happy hour, and enjoy some food and drink and hopefully meet new people. While you can just drop in to join us, we appreciate knowing in advance who is likely to come. NNN volunteer Ann B. and her mother Margaret invite you to enjoy a spring stroll through their Shoreline home’s gardens. Ann will lead the tour and highlight the emerging spring foliage. The walk will begin in the front yard and wind around to the back gardens.

Afterwards, for those interested Ann and Margaret invite you to relax on their front deck to visit while sipping tea/coffee, munching on a tasty homemade snack and enjoying the view of the Sound.



Each tour will be available for up to 8 walkers, and reservations are required. Members may request transportation to the garden stroll.
