Subject: NNN Year End Reflections and 2021 Resolutions
From: Northwest Neighbors Network

Hello NNN members, friends, and families--
As we take time to reflect back on 2020 and look ahead to a new year, we thank each of you for being a part of our Northwest Neighbors Network community. Without you, it would have been a much more difficult year.
  • 2020 was good for getting online
  • 2020 was good for walking
  • 2020 was good for making connections
  • 2021... What new experiences do you want in the new year?

NNN Started Zooming in 2020
  • Did you get online yet for one of our Zoom sessions? Many of our members and volunteers found their way through Zoom for the first time, and many joined multiple events each month to chat with others.
  • Did you know you don't need a computer to call into our Zoom events? There's always an alternate phone number you can dial into and take part in connecting with others to talk about what's on your mind, or for our weekly TED talk topics.
  • Want help getting set up? We're looking forward to having you join us! Email services@northwestneighborsnetwork.org or call 253-237-2848
  • Mondays=informal chats
  • Thursdays=TED Talk discussions
  • All the latest info is on our Events page calendar
Walkers Kept Walking WITH Social Distancing
  • Edmonds - Sundays at 1:15 PM
  • Shoreline - Tuesdays at 11:00 AM
  • Lake Forest Park - Mondays at 1:00 PM (December 28 Debut!)
Our walkers enjoy so much walking, we decided to debut a new location on a sunny December day. Walks are open to anyone, no need to pre-register. Just show up on time to take part and have a great socially-distanced conversation while you try out your favorite walking shoes. The new walking route meets at Horizon View Park

Making Connections in 2020
We added new members and new volunteers in 2020, and received King County levy funding to help us make more connections. Our biggest request area toward the end of the year was in offering transportation to our members. Volunteer training and safety protocols allowed us to follow the latest COVID-19 safety guidelines to provide this essential service to our members for rides to doctor appointments and more.

We're looking forward to new connections in 2021, and adding even more events for our members. Share your ideas anytime!

Speaking of connections--another village in our area just shared this!

Beacon Hill Village (BHV) celebrated the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven with a special free piano recital performed by the exciting young artist Lee Dionne. Dionne performed Beethoven’s Bagatelle in G Minor, op. 119, No. 1 and the rarely heard late masterwork, the Diabelli Variations, op. 120. (The concert was recorded on Wednesday, December 16, the date most experts believe is the 250th anniversary Beethoven’s birth.)

Thanks to BHV for sharing--The recording is available here: YouTube Concert link
