NNN Postcard Campaign Launching

Getting the Word Out About NNN!
We are set to launch a new outreach campaign to spread awareness about NNN to potential new members. We want you to know we’re doing this, so you can help us spread the word and be ready to tell others your own story about what being a member or volunteer of NNN means to you. We expect the postcards will be mailed by mid-March. How the Campaign Will Work: Starting with a small trial geographic area, we’ll send a postcard to create interest and curiosity about NNN. The postcards will be mailed to approximately 3,000 households in Shoreline (zip code 98133) with at least one person 65-75 years old.

People interested in learning more are directed to access our new “hello” page custom link. We’ve also included our general information phone number and email address on the postcard.

A few of our Outreach committee volunteers will follow up on the inquiries and answer any questions. People who express interest in joining NNN based on our volunteer conversations will be referred to our Membership Coordinator to complete the new member assessment interview and enrollment process. Preparing our Volunteers to Talk with Prospective Members or Others: Before we begin the campaign, we’ll have a short training session to help prepare our volunteers about how to talk through what NNN is all about, answer questions and what to do if someone is interested in becoming a member (or volunteer).

If you’re interested in being part of this campaign, please reach out to darci@northwestneighborsnetwork.org.

Tax Season is Upon Us - Need Support?

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is currently taking appointments for its free tax preparation and e-filing services. Due to COVID-19 pandemic limitations, the traditional face-to-face meeting with a Tax-Aide counselor is being replaced with a contact-free approach.

Anyone wishing assistance with their tax preparation must make an appointment. Washington state taxpayers can make an appointment by calling 888-OUR-AARP (888-687-2277) and leaving a voicemail. A volunteer will call back to set up an appointment. Assistance can also be requested through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide website.

All tax preparation interactions will take place via telephone and video conferencing. This free service will be offered through April 15.
