About this event
Do you want to go to a local neighborhood (or even the airport), but don't want to drive or have to pay a ride-share service to get there? Have you considered taking the Light Rail, or any of the stops along the way, but you don't know how to use it?
NNN is offering escorted practice trips on the Light Rail 1 Line. This short practice trip is only available to current NNN volunteers and members. Volunteer Eileen C will pick you up from home and demystify the whole process.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Please contact Services@NorthwestNeighborsNetwork.org, text or call 253-237-2848, and your name will be referred to Eileen. She will reach out to you to coordinate the details and confirm your registration.
We will begin at the Lynnwood Station Ride Store so you can purchase a Senior Orca card that drops the ride price to $1 each way if you meet the reduced fare guidelines. If you already have an Orca card, or if it's stored on your Android phone, please be sure to bring the card and/or your phone with you. From there, we'll board the train and travel a few stops to give you the opportunity to become familiar with how the process works, including where to tap your fare card, where the restrooms, elevators and steps are and how to know which side of the station to board the train to get to where you want to go!
Once everyone is ready to head back to Lynnwood, we'll reverse course and take the train back north to the Lynnwood station.
