It’s getting to be that time of year when curling up with a good movie and some popcorn sounds like a great idea. How about joining a group that feels the same way? Instead of a book club, we’re a movie club where a movie will be chosen, and you’ll have a month to watch it before we meet online. We’ll join by Zoom to discuss what we did or didn’t like about the movie. Were the characters believable? Was the storyline easy to follow? What was the best/worst part of the movie? Did it make you laugh, cry, fall asleep?
We'll select a movie to watch that's available from one or more streaming services and/or through your local library.
We think the most common streaming services are: Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube, Google Play, Apple TV, PBS, Tubi, Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, HBO and Fandango. There are many others. Depending on your chosen streaming service and whether it's offering the movie, you may need to pay a small fee to be able to watch the movie. You might also be able to download it to your TV through your local library's affiliation with Hoopla and/or Kanopy. The library may also have a DVD you can check out if you have a DVD player. Please check with your local library to learn how to access free movies to watch on your TV or other devices.
December's movie is The Santa Clause, starring Tim Allen.
This group is open to everyone who enjoys watching and talking about movies! We'll pick all genres based on the suggestions of our group.
